Character with Ball animation

I feel this animation is good with the timing and movement. The only problem I have at the moment is the position of the ball on the hand which I think I can sort out with the graph.

As you can see, the ball is not touching the hand at the movement.

By using the constrain/ parent option, I have managed to get the character touching the ball at the key frame position.

Here I have managed to get the character not touching ball as he throws it in the air. I managed this by clicking on the object and turning the blend parent off in the key frame I have set at the time. and when the ball goes back onto the hand, I set another key frame and turn the blend parent on.

As you can see here, I have the little problem here with the ball not 100% on the man's palm. This can be sorted out soon by tuning the graph. I can access the graph by going to "Windows", then "animation editors" finally choosing graph editor.

Phone Call animation

I am kind of happy with the development of my phone call animation at the moment but there is still improvements that need to be done. The timing and speed needs to be tuned and also the head movement. I managed to do the bling animation in it as it is solely concentrating on the eyes and eye brow movement to get the audience to understand how the character is feeling from the phone call. I will still do some tweaking for it.

What feelings does the character look like he is having at the time of the phone call in this picture?

Post Box Animation

I did a post box animation which was an epic fail. The walk cycle was slow and the planning was poor. I spoke to my tutor about it. In order to execute the problem, I will need to do a blocking pass for key frames. The timing will be improved if I was to do this. At the moment the animation is really slow.

Max crouching to pick up letter from floor. He tried to throw it in thinking he was smart and cool to do so but he failed.

Introduction to 3D Animation

My 3D Animation assessment will be based on a portfolio of practice through character animation principles and knowledge of the 3D Software (Autodesk Maya).

In order to get my animations more accurate, I will be doing research on movements such as Video Recordings which will be my reference. I will also be using external research in character animation industry about the animators and animation on how they develop their work.

There will be thumbnail sketches and planning of timing which is vital and also on exaggeration if it will be used.

On my blog, I will be posting my early attempts on my animations. Blocking passes and key poses may be used.

Class tasks will be posted on my blog with updates and if there have been trouble on my animations, I will post it.

My workflow will be posted each time I have made changes or development and also a written proposal will be done with research behind my decisions like if I had inspiration from something.

At the end of all this, I will create a 30 seconds character animation with a 5 seconds lip sync. :)
